Real SID compared to emulated SID

>

I've recorded some .sid files from real c64 to demonstrate the problems of current sid emulation.
As you can hear from those samples emulation is not even close to how it should be on filtered sounds, I've heard from many sources thats its supposely impossible to make perfect filter emulation, but somehow I cannot believe this, ok, maybe not perfect but better than this must be possible... Sid emulators hasnt been getting any better for ages, maybe emulator development just needs new and hungry blood to make things better ;)

First there's 6 sid tunes recorded from real c64:

20CC/Spijkerhoek
Dunn_David/Jump_Jet
Huelsbeck_Chris/Shades
MozIcArt/Tjelta_Geir/Beyond
VARIOUS/G-L/Jeff/Hard_Track
VARIOUS/M-R/Mitch_and_Dane/Gloria

Same 6 sid tunes recorded with sidplay2 which should be the top of the line emulator currently:

20CC/Spijkerhoek
Dunn_David/Jump_Jet
Huelsbeck_Chris/Shades
MozIcArt/Tjelta_Geir/Beyond
VARIOUS/G-L/Jeff/Hard_Track
VARIOUS/M-R/Mitch_and_Dane/Gloria

And finally 6 links to original sid tunes used for recording these, so you can compare with your favourite sidplayer if you use something else than sidplay2:

20CC/Spijkerhoek
Dunn_David/Jump_Jet
Huelsbeck_Chris/Shades
MozIcArt/Tjelta_Geir/Beyond
VARIOUS/G-L/Jeff/Hard_Track
VARIOUS/M-R/Mitch_and_Dane/Gloria

As you already might have noticed, link names are HVSC dirs, so its easy to find those files if you have HVSC already installed.

All Files are encoded with ogg vorbis tools, if you dont have plugin to play ogg files get it here:
